12/20/2023 0 Comments Mc skat kat![]() ![]() You can read more about Skat Kat and the Mob in the pages I recently discovered on a blog devoted to Paula Abdul memorabilia:ĭid you know it’s been twenty years since Skat Kat’s album came out? Sadly, it was one of the most underrated albums in the early 1990s. Don’t get me wrong – the songs on it are pretty good and decent once you get to know them. The Stray Mob, of course, consists of Fatz (the short cat), Taboo (the cat wearing red shorts), Leo (the burly creature whose species I cannot verify at this time), Micetro (the mouse you see sitting on the hood of the limo/Skatmobile), Katleen (the cat in the pink hairdo) and Silk (the cat with blue eyes). I often have to make revisions to remain faithful to the source material. This might not be the final version, however. I think it would look great in all sorts of places (sans my logo and notes): posters, bags, folders, lunchboxes, gift cards, desktop wallpapers, jigsaw puzzles, even three-dimensional dioramas! I could go on. I created some artwork (colored with Adobe Photoshop) in preparation for Abdul’s 50th birthday and as a sure-fire way to acknowledge the existence of MC Skat Kat and the Stray Mob, since no one else has ever thought of it before. His physique might remind some of you of that of Roger Rabbit. More than twenty years ago, Paula Abdul’s Opposites Attract introduced MC Skat Kat, an animated feline rapper (the clean kind). To grab the microphone and make the ladies go. Me and Paula did a duo and then I went solo I'm the kat who did the rap in "Opposites Attract" MC Skat Kat: For those who don't know me, Now I'm a beat-box, but I'm a do-it-my-way I don't like nobody telling me what to do Homeboy Fatz, Why don't you step up to the microphone (I thought I) could but you can't- BUST IT Return of the Skat Strut a brand new dance The dance is mine a generation of felines I say only when it's done by Milli and Vanilli People want to know if its meant to be silly I can see myself now on the aisles of "Soul Train" Without a question, its the strut to fame The Skat Strut (I though I saw a putty kat- I did, I did)Īs we go a little something like this- Hit it!! You must have shook the wrong end cuz you ain't doing Now shake a little as you groove to the beatĪnd if you get dizzy from shaking your butt It's as simple as it gets, just stick out your neck I burned him on the butt with a flick of my bicĪnd then I cold ran away with the candle stickĪnd doing my Skat Strut from wall to wall Step to the dance floor bust a little spinĪnd get a load of what its like to be doing the Skat Strut Swingin’ and wingin’ I'm just doing my own thing One more of my hip is like an afro-disiac They call me Skat Kat, the dance floor maniac ![]() To hell with John Travolta and the Disco Duck Got More Moves than a mutant ninja- turtle that is MC Skat Kat: Well You've never seen a kat with so much charisma He sings "Opposites Attract" with Stan, who is trying to prove that opposites do attract. He mentions being out of a job, obviously meant to poke fun at his absence from media and pop culture. MC Skat Kat appeared in American Dad! Season 13 episode 6 "Kiss Kiss Cam Cam", on February 29, 2016. The video also appeared once on Nickelodeon in 1995. It was later shown occasionally on Sesame Street during the early 1990’s, although no Sesame Street characters were present. ![]() "Yakety Yak" premiered on MTV on Ap(National Recycling Day), appeared as a trailer at AMC movie theaters, and was distributed on VHS and CD. King, Queen Latifah, Kenny Loggins, Randy Newman, Tone Loc, Ozzy Osbourne, Brenda Russell, Barry White, Stevie Wonder and a special appearance by Bugs Bunny in an updated version of "Yakety Yak" retooled with a message about recycling. The music video featured appearances by celebrities including Pat Benatar, Natalie Cole, Charlie Daniels, Lita Ford, Quincy Jones, B.B. MC Skat Kat also appeared in "Yakety Yak - Take it Back", an all-star Public Service Announcement produced by the Take It Back Foundation in 1991. ![]()
